Build-a-Bed Project

On October 28, 2017, Habitat for Humanity, Volunteer & Information Center and the Housing Authority of Henderson sponsored a project to benefit the children of Henderson. Participants worked in shifts throughout the day to build 50 beds for children in need. Volunteers exceeded their goal by building more than 50 beds.
The beds, along with pillows, mattresses and “bedtime bags” that included sheets, blankets, comforters, night lights, stuffed animals, books and other night-time essentials, were delivered to children who were recommended to the project sponsors. This project gives each child an opportunity for a good night’s sleep, which is essential to their well being.
Eight families from the Housing Authority benefited from the project.
