Resident Spotlight

Each month a resident or family is chosen from AMP1 or AMP2 by management to introduce that person(s) to you.  These individuals are chosen based upon a variety of criteria with the hopes that you will learn something new about your neighbors. This month’s resident spotlight is on……..

Dale Buckner

Dale, is a resident of Lawndale Apartments and has recently completed the Certified Nursing Assistant Program offered by the Housing Authority through the Henderson Community College and thanks to a venture grant from United Way of Henderson County.  Dale is now employed by Medco Center of Henderson and says,  ”The CNA program is great!  It allowed me to complete my training, get first hand clinical experience and secure a new job right here in Henderson.  It changed not only my life but my families.”  All this has been made possible thanks to a grant from the United Way aimed at targeting and reducing unemployment. Many graduates have gone on to work for Methodist Hospital, Redbanks, St. Anthony’s Hospice and other local healthcare providers.

Beginning in May, we again will be offering the eight-week class at no charge to public housing and section 8 residents.  If you’ve ever dreamed of beginning a career in health-care contact Donna Rigsby at 270 631-0747 or drigsby@hahenderson.org to get an application.

Thanks, Dale and United Way of Henderson for helping us make a difference in our local community.
